Rock Rose Seed

Helianthemum Rock Rose is a low-growing, evergreen perennial prized for its vibrant, saucer-shaped flowers in a mix of yellow, orange, pink, and red.

 

Blooming from late spring to mid summer, these sun-loving plants create a stunning carpet of colour, perfect for rockeries, dry borders, and alpine gardens. Their silver green foliage provides year round interest, making them an excellent choice for ground cover.

 

A drought-tolerant and pollinator-friendly plant, Rock Rose thrives in poor, well-drained soil, attracting bees and butterflies while requiring minimal maintenance.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds indoors from February to June. Scatter seeds on the surface of moist, well-draining compost and press gently do not cover, as light aids germination. Maintain a temperature of 18-21°C and keep the soil slightly moist until germination, which may take 2–4 weeks.

 

Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots and grow them on in a bright, cool location. Harden off before planting outdoors after the last frost, spacing 25-30 cm apart in a sunny, well-drained position.
