Rose Campion Seeds

A hardy and free flowering perennial with striking magenta pink blooms held above silvery grey foliage.

 

Rose Campion is a cottage garden favourite, producing vibrant flowers from early summer through to autumn. The blooms are highly attractive to bees and hoverflies, adding ecological value and bold colour to borders, wildlife friendly schemes, and informal plantings.

 

This easy to grow perennial thrives in full sun and well drained soil, tolerating poor conditions and drought once established.

Perfect for edging, mixed borders, and naturalised displays.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with fine soil or vermiculite. Maintain temperatures at 18 to 21°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination usually occurs within 2 to 3 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost spacing 30 to 40 cm apart. For direct sowing wait until soil is warm and frost risk has passed.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells until plants are established. Once mature, Rose Campion is drought tolerant and requires little care. Deadhead spent blooms to prolong flowering or allow seed heads to ripen for gentle self seeding. Suitable for borders, cottage gardens, and wildlife friendly schemes.
