Quaking Grass Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This graceful wild ornamental perennial grass has clumps of grey green leaves from which slender stems erupt on top of which small purple red seeds heads are displayed from the beginning of summer.

A lovely border plant or for using in mixed container displays.

Sow March - June or year round

Loam or clay soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

Germination time 14 - 21 days

Height 40cm

Plant in sun or part shade

Flowers May - August

Ideal in beds, borders, containers, gravel, low maintenance

Sowing the seed is possible year round if a gentle heat can be achieved.

Sow onto a seed tray of moist compost cover lightly with compost and place on a sunny window sill or in green house between March - June. Germinate at a temperature of between 20-25°.

When the seedlings are large enough to handle pot on in to individual pots to grow on.

Gradually harden off the plants before planting them out into their final growing position.
