Pumpkin Moschata 'Futtsu Black Early Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This small pumpkin is around the size of a grapefruit and has deeply ribbed black skin that turns buff orange as it ripens.

Bright orange flesh has a creamy texture and nutty flavour.

Excellent for storing.

Seed Qty 2 gram

Sow April - June

Germination 7 - 14 days

Loam or sandy soil that's acidic or neutral

Harvest September - October

Companion plants Corn, Squash, Nasturtium

Harvest by cutting the fruit off the plant

A good source of B1 and E

Use for roasting

Sow between April - May into pots 1.5 cm deep placing two seeds on their sides leave on a sunny window sill or in a propagator and keep moist.

Remove the weaker seedling and grow on when the plants get 4/5 leaves gently accustom them to the outside and plant out.

Alternatively sow outside in June 25cm deep.

Leave 100cm - 125cm between rows.
