Phlox Annual Mix Seeds

Annual Phlox, also known as Drummond’s Phlox, is a cheerful bedding plant grown for its vivid, long lasting blooms.

 

The mixed selection offers a wide range of colours including crimson, rose, lavender, blue, and pure white. The flowers are borne in dense clusters above neat mounds of foliage, creating a carpet of colour through the summer months.

 

Compact and bushy, plants typically reach 15 to 25 cm in height, making them ideal for edging paths, filling gaps in borders, or brightening patio containers. Their extended flowering season and ease of cultivation make them a reliable choice for gardeners of all levels.

Sow February to April indoors, or May outdoors after frost

Germination 14 to 21 days at 18 to 21°C

Soil and Position Fertile, well drained soil in full sun. Prefers sheltered sites

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist compost and cover lightly. Keep at 18 to 21°C until germination. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant outdoors after the last frost, spacing 20 cm apart.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Annual Phlox prefers sunny, sheltered positions and benefits from regular watering in dry spells. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering. Plants are half?hardy and should be protected from late frosts.
