Oregano Herb Perennial Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This bushy perennial herb has sweet flavoured green aromatic leaves with an abundance of pale pink flowers during summer.

It can be used as an ornamental plant in the garden and is ideal for using in a wide range of culinary dishes.

Oregano is a powerful antioxidant, can help relieve coughs and is good for gut health.

Sow January - December

Germination 14 - 21 days

Loam, chalk or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

Harvest during summer time. Year round inside

Companion Plants Beans and broccoli

Pick the leaves when required.

A good source of vitamin B6, C, A, C, E and k

Use in Italian dishes, lamb and tomato dishes.

Sow the seed thinly between January - December into pots on well drained compost and cover lightly, leave on a sunny window sill to use in the kitchen year round.

Alternatively sow outdoors in a sunny sheltered spot into fertile soil during April - May.
