Sowing Instructions

Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours before sowing. Sow 1 cm deep in pots or trays of moist well drained compost. Maintain a temperature of 18 to 24°C. Germination can be slow and irregular. Transplant seedlings into individual pots once large enough to handle. Grow on in a bright sheltered position and plant out when well established.

 

Grow and Maintenance

Water regularly during the first year to encourage strong root development. Mulberries are hardy and low maintenance once established. Prune lightly in winter to shape if required. Trees thrive in sunny sheltered positions and tolerate drought and poor soils once mature.
