Miscanthus Chinese Silver Grass Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This delightful clump forming perennial grass has deep green arching leaves with silky silver white flowering plumes on slender stems from late summer.

A lovely tall border plant to add structure to the garden.

Sow January - May

All soil types acidic, alkaline or neutral

Germination time 7 - 21 days

Plant in sun or part shade

Flowers August - November

Ideal in beds, borders, containers, gravel, low maintenance

Also known as Maiden Grass

Sowing the seed is possible year round if a gentle heat can be achieved.

Sow onto a seed tray of moist compost covering lightly with compost and place on a sunny window sill or in green house between January - May maintain a temperature between 15 - 20°.

When the seedlings are large enough to handle pot on in to individual pots to grow on.

Gradually harden off the plants before planting them out into their final growing position.
