Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds indoors from March to May for the best results. Fill pots or seed trays with fine compost and sow seeds 1 cm deep, placing them on their sides to prevent rot. Maintain a temperature of 20-25°C and keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.

 

Once seedlings have at least two true leaves, transplant them into larger pots. Harden off before planting outdoors in a warm, sheltered location or in a greenhouse. Space plants 60-90 cm apart and provide a trellis or support if growing vertically.

 

Water consistently and feed with a high-potassium fertiliser once flowers appear. Harvest when fruits develop a strong aroma, the skin changes to a golden hue, and they gently detach from the stem.
