Sowing Instructions

 

Indoors: Sow seeds from March onwards in seed trays or small pots filled with fine, moist compost. Cover lightly and maintain a temperature of 16–20°C. Keep soil consistently moist and transplant seedlings when strong enough.

 

Outdoors: Direct sow from April to August in prepared, fertile soil. Sow thinly in drills 1–2 cm deep and thin seedlings to 20–25 cm apart. Water regularly to encourage tender, crisp leaves.

 

Regular harvesting of outer leaves encourages continuous growth and maintains a healthy, productive plant.
