Sowing Instructions

 

Indoors: Sow in trays or small pots from February to April. Cover seeds lightly with compost, keep moist, and maintain a temperature of 15–18°C. Transplant seedlings into their final positions once large enough to handle, spacing 20–25 cm apart.

 

Outdoors: Direct sow from March to July into prepared seedbeds. Thin seedlings to 20–25 cm apart for full-sized heads or closer for cut-and-come-again harvesting. Keep soil moist to prevent bitterness and encourage tender leaves.
