Leek De Carentan 2 Seeds – Irish Plants Direct

Leek De Carentan 2 (Allium porrum L.) is a traditional, robust variety prized for its long, thick, pale stems and mild, sweet flavour.

Perfect for soups, stews, quiches, and braising, this classic leek delivers tender, flavourful stalks ideal for culinary use throughout the colder months. Its hardy nature makes it a favourite among home gardeners and professional growers alike.

This slow-bolting variety produces strong, upright plants with dense, dark green leaves and long, blanched stems. It thrives in fertile, well-drained soil with consistent moisture and full sun, providing reliable yields year after year. Leek De Carentan 2 is particularly suited for autumn and winter harvesting, with excellent storage potential.

In addition to its culinary appeal, leeks attract pollinators when allowed to flower and can be used in crop rotation to improve soil health. Easy to grow and low-maintenance, it is a must-have for vegetable gardens.
