Kale Westlandse Winter (Brassica oleracea L.) is a traditional Dutch winter hardy variety, renowned for its robust, curly green leaves and exceptional cold tolerance.

Sowing Instructions

 

Indoors: Sow seeds in seed trays or pots filled with fine compost from February to May. Cover lightly, keep the soil moist, and maintain a temperature of 18–21°C. Once seedlings are strong enough, prick out and harden off before transplanting outdoors.

 

Outdoors: Direct sow seeds from March to June in well-prepared soil. Sow thinly in rows 30–40 cm apart and thin seedlings to 20–30 cm spacing. Regular watering and mulching help maintain healthy growth during colder months.
