Honeywort Cerinthe Major Purpurascens Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This tall hardy annual has blue green slightly fleshy oval leaves with clusters of scented purple blue bell shaped flowers during summer.

Perfect for mixed borders and container displays.

The scented flowers are a magnet for bee's and butterflies

Loam, clay or sand soil that's acidic,alkaline or neutral

Also known as honeywort

Sow between February - April in a propagator or on a warm window sill onto sieved moist compost and cover with finely sieved compost.

Transplant the seedlings when they are large enough to handle into trays spacing the plants 5cm apart or individual pots to grow on.

Harden off before planting out when all risk of frost has passed.

Alternatively Sow out side where they are to flower during April 1.5cm deep.

Thin to 30cm apart.
