This popular half hardy annual has eye catching bright red flowers with a white eye that stand on slender stems above mid green foliage during summer.

They provide long lasting displays in borders, mixed container displays and baskets.

Dead head to prolong flowering. Bring into the house or greenhouse to overwinter.

Sow between January - April on a warm window sill or propagator into trays of moist compost cover with 3mm of sieved compost.

When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into 7.5 cm pots.

Gradually harden off the plants before planting out after all risk of frost has passed.
