Foxglove White Seed

A graceful and statuesque biennial with tall spires of creamy white bell-shaped flowers, each delicately speckled within.

 

It forms leafy rosettes in its first year, followed by elegant flowering stems in its second. Its pure colouring and architectural form make it ideal for cottage gardens, wildlife borders, and naturalistic planting.

 

This shade tolerant biennial thrives in partial sun and moist, well drained soil and is perfect for low maintenance planting, pollinator habitats, and woodland edges.

 

It attracts bees and bumblebees and self-seeds gently for future displays.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds thinly where plants are to flower or in trays/modules for transplanting. Press lightly onto the surface of moist compost without covering, as light aids germination. Keep at 18 to 21°C until seedlings appear. Transplant when large enough to handle and space 30 to 40 cm apart. For best results, sow in spring or early summer for flowering the following year.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells and avoid overfeeding. Deadhead to prolong flowering or allow to self-seed for informal planting. Suitable for borders, woodland gardens, and cutting. Cut back after flowering or leave seed heads for architectural interest. Caution: all parts of the plant are toxic if ingested.
