Eucalyptus River Red Gum Seeds – Irish Plants Direct

A majestic and fast growing species, Eucalyptus camaldulensis (River Red Gum) is one of the most iconic Australian trees, known for its smooth mottled bark, elegant open canopy and strong lemon eucalyptus fragrance.

This hardy species thrives in warm sunny positions and is highly tolerant of drought, heat and poor soils once established.

River Red Gum forms a tall upright tree with long slender blue green leaves that release aromatic oils when crushed.

Young plants grow rapidly, making it an excellent choice for shelter, screening or creating a striking architectural focal point. In suitable climates it can reach impressive heights, while container grown plants can be maintained smaller through pruning.

A superb choice for gardeners seeking a bold evergreen tree with strong scent, fast growth and year round interest.

Harden off gradually before planting out in a sunny sheltered position.

Grow and Maintenance
Water regularly during the first year to establish deep roots. Once mature, River Red Gum is highly drought tolerant and low maintenance. Prune lightly to shape if required.
