It has a slightly ideal for mixed salad dishes.

Loam soil that's alkaline or neutral

Harvest August - October

Companion Plants Beetroot, beans, carrots and radish

Do not plant with cabbage

Cut off the heads when they are firm

A good source of vitamin A

Use in mixed Salads

Make successional sowings in fertile well drained soil in a sheltered sunny spot in summer.

Lettuce does not grow well in acidic soil.

Keep well watered during dry spells.

Sow thinly outdoors between June - July in drills 1.5cm deep and 15cm between rows when the seedlings appear thin to 15cm apart.
