Echinops Blue Globe Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This hardy perennial is perfect for planting towards the back of a sunny mixed border. The attractive blue globe shaped flowers stand on silvery branched stems flowering from mid summer.

They provide valuable nectar and pollen to various species of wildlife in the garden.

Use as a cut or dried flower for long lasting displays around the home.

Loam, chalk or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

Plant in sun or partial shade.

Flowers July - September the following year.

Ideal for beds, borders, cottage, gravel, low maintenance, wildlife

Deadhead to prevent self seeding

Sow the seed between May - July directly into finely raked moist soil 5mm deep.

Thin the seedlings to their flowering positions to bloom the following summer spacing 35cm apart.
