Dahlia Semi Double Mixed Seeds - Irish Plants Direct
 
A cheerful and free flowering blend of compact dahlias with semi double blooms in bright shades of red orange yellow pink and white.
 
Dahlia Semi-double Mixed forms neat bushy plants with upright stems and lush green foliage. The open centred blooms are highly attractive to bees and butterflies and provide continuous colour from midsummer to autumn.
 
This half hardy annual is easy to grow and ideal for borders containers and cutting gardens. It thrives in full sun and well drained fertile soil and performs reliably in both formal and informal planting schemes.

Sowing Instructions
 
Sow seeds on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with fine soil or vermiculite. Maintain warmth at 18 to 22°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination usually occurs within 1 to 2 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost spacing 30 to 40 cm apart. Pinch out growing tips to encourage bushiness.
 
Grow and Maintenance
 
Water regularly and feed monthly with a high potash fertiliser. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Dahlia prefers full sun and rich soil. Suitable for borders containers and cutting gardens. Lift tubers in autumn for overwintering or treat as annual.
