Courgette Black Beauty Vert de Milan Seeds - Irish Plants Direct
This easy to grow popular courgette has rounded fruits with dark green skins and a good flavour.
They are a strong plant with plenty of fruits harvest when young for tender skins.
The flowers are also edible.
Seed Qty 5gram
☀️Sow March - May
☀️Germination 7 - 10 days
☀️Loam or sandy soil that's acidic or neutral
☀️Harvest July - October
☀️Companion Plants Beans, radish, beetroot, peas, parsley and peppers
Do not plant with potatoes
☀️Harvest when the fruits are and 10cm long cutting with a sharp knife
☀️A good source of vitamin A, C and E
☀️Use for Baking, grilling, roasting and stir-frys
Apply a liquid fertiliser evert two weeks when the first flowers appear.
Sow indoors from March to May into 9cm pots sow two seeds by planting on their side 2.5cm deep and cover with compost.
Place on a sunny window sill, warm greenhouse or propagator to germinate.
Remove the weaker plant and grow on the stronger plant when the roots are visible at the bottom of the pot transplant into a larger pot to grow on.
Harden off and when the danger of frost has passed plant outside into a sunny spot, or grow on in the greenhouse or tunnel in a humus rich border or grow bag.
Alternatively sow outside in May where they are to grow.
