Cosmos Tetra Versailles Dark Rose Seeds

Cosmos Tetra Versailles Dark Rose is a half hardy annual celebrated for its bold, richly coloured flowers that stand tall on sturdy stems. The semi-double to double blooms have a moody elegance, adding depth and texture to planting schemes.

 

Flowering freely from midsummer to autumn, this variety is perfect for wildflower meadows, cottage gardens, and pollinator friendly borders.

 

Its long stems make it a favourite for cut flower arrangements, while its nectar-rich blooms attract bees and butterflies. Easy to grow and drought tolerant once established.

Sow indoors from February to April in trays or modules, covering seeds lightly with 5 mm of compost. Maintain 18–21°C and keep moist until germination (7–14 days). Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, spacing 30–40 cm apart. Harden off before planting outdoors after the last frost.

 

Alternatively, direct sow outdoors in May once soil has warmed. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and harvest stems when buds are just opening for arrangements.
