Dwarf Sulfur Cosmos Carpet Red forms low growing bushy plants that produce a vivid carpet of colour from midsummer to autumn. The finely cut foliage and abundant blooms make this variety ideal for edging, containers, and mass planting.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with fine soil. Maintain warmth at 18 to 22°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination usually occurs within 1 to 2 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost spacing 30 to 40 cm apart. For direct sowing wait until soil is warm and frost risk has passed.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water sparingly once established and avoid overfeeding. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Cosmos prefers full sun and tolerates heat and dry conditions. Suitable for borders containers and wildlife schemes.
