Cosmos Candy Stripe Seeds

A tall, airy annual with daisy-like blooms striped in white and rose-pink  perfect for borders, cutting, and pollinators.

 

Cosmos Candy Stripe is a classic cottage garden favourite, producing masses of single and semi-double flowers with white petals edged and veined in deep pink.

 

The blooms appear from midsummer to autumn on tall, branching stems with fine, feathery foliage. This variety is easy to grow, drought tolerant once established, and highly attractive to bees and butterflies.

 

Ideal for back borders, wildflower style plantings, and cut flower arrangements, it brings a whimsical, hand painted charm to any sunny space.

Germination: 7 – 14 days at 15–18°C

Soil: Loam, chalk, or sandy; well-drained; neutral to slightly alkaline

Avoid Planting With: Shade-loving or moisture-demanding plants

 

 

Sow seeds indoors from March to May in trays or pots filled with moist compost. Cover lightly and maintain a temperature of 15–18°C. Germination typically takes 7–14 days. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual pots and grow on. Harden off and plant out after the last frost, spacing 30–45 cm apart in full sun.

 

Alternatively, sow directly outdoors once soil has warmed. Water moderately and deadhead regularly to prolong flowering. Suitable for borders, wildlife gardens, and cutting.
