Cornflower Blue Ball Seed - Irish Plants Direct

This pretty hardy annual is a summer favourite it produces masses of blue flowers that stand on tall stems throughout summer.

They attract valuable wildlife into the garden and also make a nice cut flower.

Sow March - April

Germination time 10-14 days

Loam or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

Height 75cm

Plant in full sun or partial shade

Flowers June - September

Ideal for beds, borders, coastal cottage, wildlife, wildflower, cut flower, edible

Deadhead to prolong flowering

Sow the seed in a sunny border between March - April in warm moist finely raked soil where they are to flower 5mm deep.

When the seedlings emerge thin them to 10-15cm.

Alternatively sow September to flower the following year.
