Corn Marigold Yellow And Black Seeds

A vivid and contrasting wildflower with golden yellow petals and deep black central discs.

 

Corn Marigold Yellow and Black adds bold colour and visual drama to meadows borders and wildlife gardens. The daisy like blooms appear on upright stems above finely divided green foliage and are loved by bees butterflies and hoverflies throughout the summer.

 

Traditionally found in arable fields this hardy annual thrives in poor well drained soils and full sun. It is ideal for naturalistic planting schemes rewilding projects and low input gardens.

 

Easy to grow and quick to flower it self seeds readily and returns in favourable conditions.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with fine soil or vermiculite. For indoor sowing use trays or pots and maintain warmth at 15 to 20°C. Germination typically occurs within 1 to 2 weeks. Harden off and transplant after last frost spacing 25 to 35 cm apart. For direct sowing rake soil to a fine tilth and water gently after sowing.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water seedlings regularly until established then reduce watering. Corn Marigold prefers full sun and poor soils. Deadhead spent blooms to prolong flowering or allow to self seed naturally. Cut back in autumn to tidy. Suitable for wildflower gardens borders and pollinator habitats.
