Chinese Dogwood Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This hardy shrub or small tree provides a long season of interest in the garden.

Beautiful four petaled white flowers cover the tree in summer followed by small dark red fruits that resemble a Raspberry flavour.

Dark green slightly curled leaves turn yellow followed by red in Autumn creating fabulous colour.

Germination time 8 - 12 weeks

Height 4 - 8 metres

Remove any dead and broken branches during spring

Soak the seed for 12 hours in warm water prior to sowing.

Sow the seed year round into pots if moist compost 1cm deep and place on a sunny window sill or in a propagator the temperature needs to be between 25 - 30°.

Cover the pot with clear polythene prick a few holes in the polythene this is to retain moisture.

Remove regularly so mould doesn't form.

When the plants are large enough to handle transplant into individual pots to grow on.
