Canna Large Flowered Hybrids is relatively easy to grow. Once the seeds are sown indoors, they will need warmth and humidity to encourage germination. After growing into strong seedlings, they can be transplanted outdoors after the last frost, where they will flourish in the sun. These plants are low-maintenance but benefit from occasional watering during dry spells and regular feeding to support their vigorous growth.

 

Sowing Instructions

 

Indoors: Soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours before sowing to aid germination. Sow the seeds in trays or pots filled with moist, well-drained compost from January to March. Keep the seeds at a temperature of 21-25°C, covering them lightly with compost or vermiculite. Once germination occurs, maintain humidity and ensure seedlings have plenty of light. Transplant outdoors after the last frost, once the weather warms up.

 

Outdoors: For earlier blooming, sow indoors first. Alternatively, sow directly into well-prepared, weed-free soil in late spring when temperatures are consistently warm. Thin seedlings to the recommended spacing for healthy growth.
