Borage Herb Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This attractive branching annual herb has eye catching vivid blue flowers with dark green oval leaves both have a mild cucumber flavour.

It looks great planted amongst flowers in a mixed border or vegetable patch attracting a host of valuable wildlife.

Germination 7-14 days

All soil types that are alkaline, acidic or neutral

Harvest July - Oct

Companion plants Tomato's, cabbage, squash & strawberry

Pick the leaves and flowers as required

A good source of vitamin A C and B6

Use the flowers and leaves in drinks and salads

Sow thinly between April - May outside where they are to grow 1.5cm deep into finely raked well drained soil that has already been watered.

Thin the seedling to 45cm apart and keep well watered until the plants are established. It will reach a height of around 100cm and will self seed freely.
