Bellflower Seeds - Irish Plants 
 
A hardy native perennial producing elegant spikes of royal blue, bell-shaped flowers from midsummer onwards.
 
Bellflower is ideal for dry borders, heavy soils and naturalistic planting schemes, thriving in wild areas and low-maintenance gardens.
 
The blooms are highly attractive to bumblebees and other beneficial insects, making it a valuable addition to pollinator-friendly landscapes. Flowering the year after sowing, this species offers resilience, beauty and ecological impact with minimal care.

Sowing instructions
 
Sow indoors in trays of compost for surest results. Cover very lightly with fine soil and keep moist. Place in a bright location at approx. 20°C. For outdoor sowing, scatter thinly in prepared soil and rake in gently. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, spacing 30 cm apart.
 
Grow and maintenance
 
Grow in full sun or partial shade in well drained or heavy soil. Water during dry spells and allow plants to self-seed naturally. Cut back spent flower spikes to encourage basal growth. Hardy and low-maintenance once established.
 
Uses and benefits
