Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds indoors from January to May or in early autumn for natural overwintering. Use seed trays or pots filled with fine compost and lightly press seeds onto the surface, covering them with a fine layer of soil. Maintain a temperature of 15-20°C and keep the soil moist until germination occurs, usually within 14-21 days.

 

Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots and harden them off before planting outdoors after the last frost. Space plants 20-25 cm apart in a sunny or lightly shaded location with well-drained soil.

 

For direct outdoor sowing, scatter seeds in a well-prepared seedbed in autumn or early spring, lightly rake over, and water gently. Thin seedlings as needed once established.
