Aster Liliput Moonshine Seeds

Aster Liliput Moonshine Mix is a charming bedding aster variety grown for its small, double, bicolour flowers.

 

Each bloom has a coloured centre ranging from deep pink, purple, or blue surrounded by a ring of white petals, creating a striking contrast. The flowers are borne in abundance on strong, well branched stems, making them ideal for both garden display and cutting.

 

Plants are compact yet vigorous, typically reaching 40–50 cm in height, and flower freely from early summer until the first frosts. Their neat habit makes them suitable for edging, bedding schemes, and patio containers.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds thinly in trays of moist compost and cover lightly with fine soil. Keep at 18 to 21°C until germination. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant outdoors after the last frost, spacing 25 cm apart.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Asters prefer fertile, well drained soil and a sunny position. Water regularly during dry spells and feed with a balanced fertiliser to encourage strong growth. Deadhead spent blooms to prolong flowering. To reduce the risk of aster wilt, avoid planting in the same spot each year.
