Sowing Instructions

 

Indoors: Sow seeds in trays or pots filled with fine, well-drained compost from February to April. Cover lightly and maintain a temperature of 18–21°C. Keep soil consistently moist. Once seedlings are large enough, transplant into larger pots or modules.

 

Outdoors: After the last frost, plant seedlings in a sunny, well-prepared asparagus bed. Space plants 30–40 cm apart in trenches 30 cm deep, backfilling with soil gradually as they grow. Mulch well and keep soil moist during establishment.

 

Harvesting: Begin harvesting spears in the third year, cutting them when they reach 15–20 cm in height. Regular harvesting encourages vigorous growth and prolonged production in subsequent years.
