Antirrhinum Semi Tall Mixed Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

A half hardy annual with upright flower spikes in a vibrant mix of colours including red, pink, yellow, white, and orange. The semi-tall habit makes it ideal for mid-border planting, offering structure and colour from early summer through to autumn.

Perfect for sunny beds, borders, and cutting gardens. The plants are branching and free flowering, with classic dragon-shaped blooms that open from the base upward. Loved by bees and butterflies, and excellent for adding vertical interest to cottage garden schemes.

Sowing instructions

Sow between February and May onto sieved, moist compost and press the seed down gently. Do not cover, as light aids germination. Keep warm and evenly moist. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into trays spacing plants 5 cm apart to grow on. Harden off and plant out after the last frost.

Grow and maintenance

Plant in full sun in free draining soil. Water regularly while establishing, then moderately. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Pinch out growing tips to encourage bushier plants. May require staking in exposed positions.

Uses and benefits

Perfect for beds, borders, pots, containers, and cottage garden schemes. The cheerful colour mix and upright habit add height and vibrancy to summer displays. Excellent for pollinator-friendly planting and cut flower arrangements.
