Antirrhinum Antiquity Mix F1 Seed

Price: €3.75
  • Description

A compact first year flowering antirrhinum with velvety blooms in warm antique shades that bring rich colour and texture to borders and containers.

Antirrhinum Antiquity F1 is a beautifully bred snapdragon that produces velvety blooms in warm antique shades of rose, apricot, cream, burgundy and soft gold. The flowers have a rich depth of colour that gives them a classic vintage look, making them perfect for cottage gardens, mixed borders and decorative containers. Each bloom has a soft textured finish that catches the light and adds a refined elegance to summer displays.

This premium F1 hybrid is bred for compact branching growth and first year flowering, giving gardeners a long season of colour from early summer onwards. The plants form neat bushy mounds that carry a generous number of flower spikes, each packed with richly coloured blooms that attract bees and other pollinators.

It performs reliably in both borders and pots, offering strong garden presence without becoming tall or leggy. The flowers last well in the garden and can also be cut for small arrangements, adding their warm tones and soft texture to indoor displays. Their compact habit makes them ideal for edging, patio pots and smaller spaces where traditional tall snapdragons may be too large.

Thriving in full sun and well drained soil, this variety is easy to grow and provides continuous colour throughout the summer months. Its unique antique palette and velvety finish make it a standout choice for gardeners who enjoy refined and richly toned flowers.

Sowing instructions
Sow seeds on the surface of moist free draining compost and press gently into place without covering, as antirrhinum seeds need light to germinate. Maintain gentle warmth and keep the compost evenly moist until seedlings appear. Transplant young plants into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off gradually and plant out after the last frost.

Grow and maintenance
Water regularly during dry spells and feed lightly to support continuous flowering. Remove spent blooms to encourage fresh spikes and prolong the display. Provide a sunny sheltered position for the best colour and growth. Plants remain compact and rarely need support. Protect young plants from slugs and snails.
