Anise Herb Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This upright annual herb has aromatic green feathery foliage with umbrels of white flowers followed by brown seed with a liquorice flavour.

Excellent for attracting wildlife into the garden.

Good for flavouring food and drink.

It has many health benefits include helping with upset stomach, intestinal gas, runny nose and coughs.

The oils from the seed can be released by seeping in hot water to make a tea.

Germination 7 - 21 days

All soil types that are acidic, alkaline or neutral

Harvest August - September

Asise makes a good companion plant for coriander do not plant with basil

Pick the leaves as required and harvest the ripe seed once they have turned brown

A good source of iron

Use in salads, soups, pastries and teas

Sow thinly between April - May outside where they are to grow 1.5cm deep into finely raked well drained soil that has already been watered.

Thin the seedling to 30cm apart and keep well watered until the plants are established.
