  • Description

Bullwort is a graceful and airy annual that produces tall stems topped with large domed umbels of fine white flowers, giving borders a soft, lacy and naturalistic look throughout summer.

The blooms form in wide, intricate clusters held above fresh green fern like foliage, creating a light and elegant contrast that works beautifully in cottage gardens, wildlife borders and cutting patches. Plants grow tall and branching, quickly forming a cloud like presence that moves gently in the breeze and adds height without heaviness.

Flowering begins in midsummer and continues into early autumn, providing long lasting colour and structure. The flowers are excellent for cutting, both fresh and dried, and they attract bees, hoverflies and other beneficial insects into the garden.

This variety thrives in sunny positions and well drained soil, showing good drought tolerance once established. It is easy to grow, reliable and perfect for gardeners who want height, texture and a soft meadow style feel with very little maintenance.

A light and elegant plant that brings movement, structure and a natural charm to any outdoor space.

Sowing Instructions
Sow seeds indoors in trays or small pots filled with moist compost. Cover lightly and keep at a steady temperature until germination. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant outdoors after the last frost in a sunny well drained position.
Alternatively, sow directly into prepared soil in spring where plants are to flower.

Grow and Maintenance
Water regularly during establishment, then sparingly once plants are growing strongly. Bullwort prefers free draining soil and thrives in warm sunny positions. Taller plants may benefit from light support in exposed areas. Remove spent stems to encourage fresh blooms or leave some to set seed for wildlife.
Success Tip: Plant in drifts among grasses or soft perennials for a natural meadow style
