Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with fine soil or vermiculite. Maintain temperatures at 18 to 21°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination usually occurs within 2 to 3 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost spacing 40 to 60 cm apart. For direct sowing wait until soil is warm and frost risk has passed.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells and feed lightly with a balanced fertiliser to encourage abundant blooms. Stake taller plants if grown in exposed positions. Deadhead spent flowers to prolong the display and maintain tidy growth. Spider Flowers thrive in sunny positions and are excellent for adding vertical interest to borders.
