Wisteria Blue Chinese Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This fast growing deciduous climber produces beautiful hanging scented flowers in shades of lilac and mauve.

They flower twice a year firstly on bare stems in spring then again in late summer.

A stunning looking climber perfect for growing against a sunny trellis, south or west facing wall or pergola.

Sow January - September

Germination time 14 - 50 days

Loam, clay or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

Height 300cm x 1200cm

Planting ideas Scrabbling up trellis or pergolas or against a south or west facing wall

Prune twice a year in summer cut back the new stems to five leaves then in January on the same growth cut back to the third bud.

Soak the seed in warm water 12 hours before sowing.

Sow the seed between January - September into pots if moist compost on a warm window sill or in a propagator the temperature needs to be between 20 - 25°.

When the plants are large enough to handle transplant into individual pots to grow on.

Gradually harden off and plant out when all danger of frost has passed.
