Wild Cherry Tree Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This large deciduous tree has eye catching white blossom during spring followed by small red edible fruits rgat have a tart taste from late summer

The leaves take on an orange and yellow colour during autumn providing a long season of interest.

Well drained neutral to acidic soil

Height 10 - 12 metres

Plant in sun

Keep the seed sealed in a plastic bag and place in the fridge for a week before sowing.

Sow the seed year round into pots of moist compost 1cm deep and place on a sunny window sill or in a propagator the temperature needs to be between 20°

Cover the pot with clear polythene to retain moisture.

Remove regularly so mould doesn't form.

When the plants are large enough to handle transplant into individual pots to grow on.
