Viola Chicky Chicks Seeds - Irish Plants Direct
 
A cheerful and compact bedding viola producing masses of charming blooms with bright, contrasting “faces” in a delightful mix of colours. Chicky Chicks is a hardy perennial often grown as an annual or biennial, flowering the same year from early sowings.
 
Its neat habit and long flowering season make it ideal for edging, containers, hanging baskets and borders. Exceptionally free flowering and easy to grow, this variety adds playful colour and cottage garden charm from spring through to autumn.

Sowing instructions
 
Sow seeds 0.5 cm deep in trays of moist compost. Keep warm and lightly shaded until germination. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, spacing 15 cm apart. Harden off and plant out after frost risk has passed. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering.
 
Grow and maintenance
 
Grow in partial shade or full sun in well drained soil. Water during dry spells and feed occasionally with a balanced fertiliser. Remove spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering. Suitable for spring, summer and autumn displays.
