Sowing Instructions:
Sow seeds indoors from February to April in trays or pots filled with moist, well-drained compost. Scatter seeds thinly on the surface, cover lightly, and maintain a temperature of 15 to 20°C. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle.
Sow outdoors from April to July directly into well-prepared soil. Rake to a fine tilth, sow thinly in rows, and cover lightly. Water gently and keep soil moist during germination.
Thin or transplant seedlings to 15 to 30 cm apart depending on the variety. Chilli peppers and spring onions may require more space between rows.
Most varieties prefer full sun and regular watering. Mizuna, Pak Choi, and Choi Sum can bolt in hot weather, so harvest young or provide partial shade. Daikon radish benefits from deep, loose soil for long root development. Chilli peppers thrive in warm, sheltered spots or greenhouses.
This collection is ideal for gardeners looking to expand their vegetable patch with bold flavours and unique textures. Whether growing in raised beds, containers, or polytunnels, these Oriental favourites will add culinary excitement to your harvest.
