Sowing Instructions

Soak seeds overnight before sowing to aid germination. Sow 2 cm deep in pots or trays of moist, well-drained compost. Germination usually occurs within 1 to 3 weeks. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, spacing 30 cm apart. Provide support such as canes or netting for climbing growth. Harden off indoor seedlings and plant out after the last frost.

 

Grow and Maintenance

Water regularly during dry spells and feed with a high-potash fertiliser once flowering begins. Remove spent blooms to prolong flowering and encourage more stems for cutting. Sweet peas thrive in sunny positions and benefit from regular picking.
