Swede Best Of All Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This hardy vegetable is an old variety with a rich yellow flesh with a mild flavour and smooth texture harvest from October onwards.

??Germination 7 - 14 days

??Loam or sandy soil that's alkaline or neutral

??Harvest October - March

??Companion plants Peas, squash, Tomatoes

??Do not plant with potatoes or raddish

??Leave in the ground until ready to use

??A good source of Vitamin C, Potassium and Calcium

??Use roasted, mashed or boiled

Sow thinly in a prepared seed bed between May - July in rows 45cm apart and 1.5 cm deep. Cover lightly and keep moist. When the seedlings appear thin to 25 cm apart to grow on.

Sow every few weeks for a continuous crop.
