This tall very decorative sunflower has plenty of soft yellow flowers on well branched strong stems during summer.

Grow towards the back of a sunny border in groups for a striking effect.

A nice cut flowers for around the home.

Sunflowers are an excellent choice for encouraging wildlife into the garden.

Leave the seed heads over winter to feed the birds.

Sow between late April - May into a fine layer of raked warm moist soil 13mm deep where the plants are to grow space the plants to 50cm apart.

Alternatively sow in March on a sunny window sill in pots.

Gradually harden off planting the sunflowers 50cm apart.
