These easy to grow hardy annuals have plenty of large golden orange to mahogany bronzed flowers on well branched stems during summer.

Sunflowers encourage a host of valuable wildlife into the garden.

Leave the seed heads over winter to feed the birds.

Sow between late April - May into a fine layer of raked warm moist soil 13mm deep where the plants are to grow space the plants to 30 - 45cm apart.

Alternatively sow during March on a sunny window sill in pots.

Gradually harden off the plants before planting out 39 - 45cm apart.
