This easy to grow low growing mix of bright and colourful annual sunflowers will provide long lasting summer colour in pots and borders.

Sunflowers are an excellent choice for encouraging wildlife into the garden.

Plant in Beds, borders, pots, containers, wildlife, cottage, cut flower

Also known as Helianthus

Leave the seed heads over winter to feed the birds.

Sow between late April - May into a fine layer of raked warm moist soil 13mm deep where the plants are to grow space the plants to 30 - 45cm apart.

Alternatively sow during March on a sunny window sill in pots.

Gradually harden off planting the sunflowers 39 - 45cm apart.
