Squash Violina Seeds - Irish Plants Direct 
 
This Italian heirloom variety has attractive scalloped light brown coloured fruits with sweet flavoured deep orange flesh.
 
The mature fruits resemble the shape of a violin.

Sow March - May
Germination 7 - 21 days
Loam or sandy soil that's acidic or neutral 
Harvest August - October 
Companion plants Corn, Pumpkins, Nasturtium
Harvest by cutting the fruit off the plant

Uses bake, roasting, stuffing or soup
 
Sow between March - April onwards into 9cm pots placing 2 seeds on their side 1.5 cm deep place on a sunny window sill or propagator.
Keeping moist remove the weaker seeding when they emerge and grow on the stronger one.
 
When the plants get 4/5 leaves gently accustom them to the outside and plant out when the risk of frost has passed leaving 90cm between plants. 
 
Alternatively sow outside in Late May 200cm apart and 100cm between rows placing 2 seeds in the ground 1.5cm deep remove the weaker seedling when they emerge.
