Sowing Instructions

Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, spacing 25 to 30 cm apart. Harden off indoor seedlings and plant out after the last frost.

 

Grow and Maintenance

Water regularly during dry spells until plants are established. Once mature, Salvia coccinea requires little care and thrives in sunny, well-drained positions. Deadhead spent flower spikes to prolong flowering and cut back stems in autumn to maintain shape.
