Sow seeds directly outdoors from April to May in well-prepared soil. Scatter seeds and lightly rake over to cover. Water gently to encourage germination. For a head-start, sow indoors 4–6 weeks before the last frost and transplant once the risk of frost has passed.

Space plants 25–30 cm apart in full sun, allowing room for them to grow tall and bushy. Water regularly, especially during dry periods, but avoid overwatering. Deadhead regularly to encourage further blooms and prevent self-seeding.

With its stunning yellow flowers, this plant makes a bold statement in gardens, while also serving a dual purpose—beautiful blooms and edible seeds. It’s the perfect choice for attracting wildlife and adding a touch of brightness to your garden or allotment.
